Is Free Affiliate Marketing Training Worth It?

* Is free affiliate marketing training worth it? * Is there such a thing as a free lunch?

Even if you find some fantastic free affiliate marketing training, the fact is it’s still not a free lunch. You’ll have to work hard applying the concepts and steps taught.

For example, there are no shortage of free ebooks and email courses that teach you how to build a list. I’ve read several. They’re good. The key is taking action.

Another example involves free ebooks about building affiliate marketing websites – whether review sites, blogs, or any other type of website that earns money through affiliate promotions.

The question to ask is: is free affiliate marketing training a good idea?

I often place less value on free stuff than on stuff I shell out my hard-earned dollars for. I’m sure I’m not alone.

This is a big mistake.

The fact is I’ve downloaded dozens, maybe hundreds of free ebooks that give free affiliate marketing training that are gathering cyber dust on my hard drive. I read them, maybe took some action, but not enough action to generate real results…

with one exception. I got this one ebook once that presented the concept of building review websites for earning money online.

Until that time, I hadn’t heard about the affiliate review website (where was I?). Anyway, the concept immediately appealed to me. This time an affiliate marketing concept appealed to me and I took massive action. Actually, massive action is an understatement.

I went nuts building 2 affiliate review websites. It was slow going at first, but within a month I generated a few sales. I was over the moon. I was ecstatic. Those few sales were the fuel that got me cranking out quality content for months.

All of a sudden, my commissions were routinely hitting $100 or more per day. This was a liveable wage. I couldn’t believe it.

One Powerful Niche Marketing Strategy

It would be an understatement saying I’m excited about affiliate marketing. Once I stumbled upon the niche marketing strategy I’ll discuss in this article, I was on the road to earning a decent monthly income as an affiliate marketer.

Which niche marketing strategy got me on my way to earning a decent monthly income?

Affiliate review websites

Before I go on to discuss this particular affiliate marketing strategy, I’ll say there is certainly more than one way to earn money as an affiliate marketer. My niche marketing strategy is simply one that works for me.

My approach to affiliate review websites

There are many ways to structure an affiliate review website. Over the last 1.5 years I’ve honed my approach to this affiliate marketing strategy to more or less a system that works for me.

Step 1: Choose an affiliate review website model

It’s imperative you plan your affiliate review website before building it. There are several types of affiliate review website models or strategies.

Step 2: Choose a product or product line

You might actually put step 2 before step 1 if you have a product or product line in mind for your review website. It’s important you choose the right product or product line for you.

If you go with a multiple product review site strategy, don’t forget to consider related products to promote. For example, if the focus of your niche marketing strategy is promoting physical products, then you may well find digital products related to your niche. Usually there are “how to” digital products and/or membership sites you can promote to people buying the physical products you promote.

Step 3: Choose a domain name

Make Money Blogging ‘ Building Your Niche Market And Getting The Basics Right

It has become quite fashionable in our modern Internet age to mention that you are a blogger. Everyone does it, from presidents to paupers. Fifteen years ago few people would have been aware of what a blogger was ‘ today mentioning that you are a blogger will immediately get people interested in you. There’s a multitude of reasons why people are writing blogs. In this article we will concentrate on the monetary side of things and show you how you can make money blogging.

The first thing you have to remember is to keep your blog about a niche subject. If you live in a far-off exotic place like La Paz, Bolivia, you could simply write about daily life in the highest capital in the world. If you live in New York, you will have to narrow down things a little bit. You could write a very interesting blog about daily life in the Bronx for example.

The number of niche subjects are virtually unlimited. Which one you choose to write about will to a large extent be determined by your life experience and interests. If you are a seventy year old ju-jitsu wrestler, many people will probably be interested in how you do it. If you are known for your sharp wit, you could for example write a political blog and tear your local politicians apart.

The point we are attempting to get across here is that you should first concentrate on giving your visitors something of value before attempting to make money from them. Once they trust you as a source of information on the subject of choice, they will return time after time and this is when you can start to monetize your blog.

Once you have a niche audience, your next step would be to make a decision on how to make money from your blog. A choice opted for by many bloggers is to sell products or services of another company on a commission basis. This is called an affiliate program ‘ and there are virtually unlimited choices available all over the web. The type of product you choose to sell should logically appeal to your target audience. If you are writing about the advantages of celibacy, you wouldn’t want to sell sex toys on your blog!

A second possibility and one chosen by many bloggers, is to display advertisements on your blog and get paid every time someone clicks on one of those ads. There are a number of companies that offer this option. They find the advertisers ‘ all you’ve got to do is draw the visitors to your blog and then get a share of the advertising revenue.

Whether you decide to go for an affiliate program or a pay-per-click program or both, you should never concentrate on the advertising as such. Your aim should be to please your visitors. Make yourself and your subject loved. Your visitors will return over and over and your visitor count will keep on growing. Eventually the money will follow.
