Well, I have not had any time to talk on my site half as often as I’d planned, on account of the fact that I’ve been dealing with my Dad manage his wild & crazy midlife crisis. Okay, I guess it’s not as far out as it could be. Basically the way he played it out was he dressed up like the Fonz or something, and drop by to my crib and proclaim to me, in his “coolest” tone of voice: “Come on in, boy, you and I are gonna start shopping for some classic Ford Mustangs. You got it, brother, I’m totally set to get myself a real cruiser.”

Next thing I know my Dad and I were hopping around to a couple of those crazy classic car lots that I’m always just about certain are not quite on the up and up, and I can’t believe it when my dad cut a check right there on the spot, for a very well-preserved classic car. I mean, it really is quite piece of machinery. It sounded great too.

Notice that I phrased about that sound in a past tense. It sounded amazing right up until it stopped making any noises. The old man maintains that it’s a pretty quick fix and he just needs to find the right part. The problem is, it is not as painless to come across classic Mustang parts as it was over a million years ago, but my Dad insists that there’s a pretty good-sized availability for them regardless. From what I’m told the the easiest way to find parts for 1967 Mustangs is by way of online auctions, since you can find them all refurbished and occasionally as good as new. Not necessarily available for a nominal fee, though… Get real, we’re talking about ancient automotive parts.

Not the worst midlife crisis ever, I guess. He could’ve bought a big tattoo or something.
