I Want To Buy A Domain With Hosting?

Hi, I want to make a website and I want to purchase a domain (not a subdomain) and hosting at the same time.
Are there any websites where I can buy those for a couple of dollars for a month or a little more?
Also, what determines that I can have blogs or a chatting facility in my website (including conferences)?
Do only certain websites let me use those facilities?
Here are some of the things I want in my website:
1) Blogging
2) Chat (including conference)
3) quizzes and tests
4) Polls

    I am a web designer. While I do not host web sites I often refer clients to web hosts that make my job easier.
    At my web site: http://www.samwilson3d.com is a list of hosts; all offer different plans, and all have excellent web building tools (notice that most have the fantastico script library) which are all you need to create websites like this recent one I createdhttp://www.simplycharmin.com
    fantastico will make blogging and chat easy and some of these plans are less than $50 per year including domain name.
    In my experience, trying to go cheaper than this will not be worth it.

    Freewebs.com has free websites and also you can upgrade to a “premium” where you can have all of those features that you listed plus more! I have made a freewebs site and it is sooo nice. My website does not have a domain, but I could upgrade to one if I wanted for a very good price.

    Lot’s of hosts will give you a domain name for free if you host with them. I have a list of companies and what they charge that I am putting together for a hosting info website. I am answering late in the game, so you may have already decided. If not, I’d be happy to dig around a bit.

    domains can ONLY be paid for yearly or two yearly.
    hosting can be paid yearly or monthly.

    If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.
