Can I Make Money By Setting Up A Blog On Google Blogger?

I want to earn a bit of extra cash on the internet. I was thinking of setting up a blog. Is that a good way of making a bit of money (not to earn an income, something like 50 quid a week would be plenty)?How do I go about setting up a blog and what would be a good thing to put on my blog?
